A. We have two sizes of containers, the standard being 20 feet (20' x 8' x 8'), equivalent to 1280 cubic feet, and the half-size, 10 foot container (10' x 8' x 8').
As a rough guide, a 10' container should hold the contents of an average 1 or 2 bedroom house or flat, anything more and you will need a 20' container.
A. We only buy brand new containers of steel construction. They are sealed against damp but have ventilation to prevent condensation. All containers are kept in excellent condition and cleaned thoroughly before each use.
A. The containers are sited in a purpose-built compound with security fencing. The gates are locked at night and alarmed with a monitored system. Our guard dog remains on the premises to ward off any unwelcome visitors.
A. It is not always necessary but it is advisable. Make a no-obligation reservation, even if you are not sure what date you will require a container from. We will do our utmost to accommodate you when you need it.
A. You will need to bring your first four weeks licence fee which is payable in advance. Also, please bring either your own, suitably sized padlock or a £10 refundable deposit for one of ours.
A. This is a self-storage service; we do not provide a removals or van hire service.
We are, however, happy to recommend local companies that have proved reliable and careful with former customers.
A. We offer vehicle access to every unit so, unlike other storage facilities, you can drive right up to the doors of your container for loading and unloading, saving lots of time and energy.
A. No. We ask you to fill in a licence agreement, giving contact details and an invoicing address. It is NOT a lease and can be terminated with 48 hours notice.
A. Absolutely not. There is a minimum period of only four weeks. You may, of course vacate within this time but you will not be eligible for a refund. Remember, anything over four weeks is subject to a 20% discount.
A. We will send you an invoice every four weeks in advance (or per calendar month if you prefer). Payments can then be made by cash, cheque, bank transfer or, if you're storing on a longer-term basis, consider setting up a standing order.
A. We only require 48 hours notice when you want to vacate your container. Any unused storage days beyond the four weeks minimum period will be refunded.
A. We can transport containers to your site, if you need to keep your belongings close-by, subject to a delivery and collection charge. The rental price remains the same for this service but, when you have finished and wish to arrange collection, the notice period is seven days.
A. Obviously, that is up to you but, for your own peace of mind, please check with your household insurance provider. We have found that most are happy to extend cover to your belongings in storage free of charge because of the security measures we have in place. Our premises are, of course, insured for public liability, etc.
A. Please use common sense. Do not store anything toxic, explosive or flammable ie. gas cylinders or fuel, anything perishable i.e. foodstuffs and nothing stolen!
